Non-refundable Application Fee: $50
Spring 2010 Program Fee: $11,480
With Part-Time Internship (optional): add additional $500, paid directly to TEAN

*Includes tuition, housing, 5 day arrival orientation in Beijing, 1 day local orientation in Shanghai, resident director, student services, accommodation technology package (wireless internet, cell phone), academic advising, internship placement, transport card, and Inner Mongolia Weekend trip and local city excursions. This fee is paid directly to the University of Maryland.
A $500 non-refundable deposit (included in the program fee) will be due to TEAN following acceptance in order to hold your place in the program. The remaining balance of $10,980 will be due in August (for fall or year) or December (for spring).
In addition to the program fee, students on the Maryland-in-Shanghai program are responsible for paying their own airfare, food costs, and personal expenses while abroad. Please see below for a break down of estimated additional expenses.The program fee includes:
The Study Abroad Office has scholarships available exclusively for Maryland-in-Shanghai participants. Spring 2010 program applicants should apply for the scholarship using the University of Maryland Study Abroad Scholarship application. These scholarships will be awarded to students based on financial need and academic background.
As the Maryland-in-Shanghai program fee is charged directly to each student's account, UM students can also use the TERP payment plan or tuition remission (where applicable) when financing their study abroad experience. UM students can also use their university, state and federal financial aid towards study abroad expenses. Study Abroad staff will notify the Office of Financial Aid so that Maryland-in-Shanghai students' aid posts automatically before the beginning of each semester.
