With its provincial differences in dialect, cuisine, art, history and geographical setting, Italian culture is fed by the distinctive characteristics and voices of its different regions. When seeking access to the Italian culture it is often the sites off the beaten tourist path that give the most meaning to la dolce vita.
The Voices of Italy program offers students the change to explore the regional variations of Italy through food, art, culture and landscape. During this study tour, students will immerse themselves in three of Italy's diverse regions and six vibrant cities: Milano, Parma, Bologna, Genova, and Torino. Material covered by the faculty director and textbooks will be complemented by site visits to local museums, monuments and attractions. We'll experience the history of Torino's Olympic village, learn how true Italian wine and olive oil is created, discover you can't make parmesan cheese without Parma and along the way walk the paths of some of Europe's ancient emperors.
Voices of Italy is for students interested in traveling and experiencing the true spirit of Italy. This course does not require any previous knowledge of Italian.
