Program Costs
When applying to ACTR students pay an application fee directly to ACTR, and upon acceptance to the program, a deposit (counted towards the total program fee). The remainder of the program fee is charged to and paid via the student’s account at the University of Maryland.
Fall 2009 - $18,500
Full Year 2009-2010 - $31,000
Spring 2010 - $19,500
*The program fee includes international airfare, housing, tuition, most meals, all group travel in Russia, insurance, orientation in Washington, D.C., and a Russian visa.
Other Costs
Students on the ACTR program are responsible for paying for some meals and all personal expenses while abroad.
Students should budget about $2,000 for personal expenses during the semester. These expenses may include public transportation, textbooks, and personal entertainment and travel. Each student's individual budget varies greatly depending on personal spending preferences.
Financial Aid and Scholarships
UM students can use their university, state and federal financial aid towards the ACTR program fee. Students from other institutions should check with their home financial aid office as to the applicability of their financial aid to a UM study abroad program.
