Application

Eligibility

The Leiden program is open to all students who have a serious interest in studying in the Netherlands. Applicants should be open-minded and flexible.

In addition, students must have completed 30 semester hours of college credit and must have an overall grade point average of at least a 3.1.

The Admissions Process

IMPORTANT: Admissions for the program are made on a rolling basis, and decisions will be given in a timely manner. Early application is advisable. Meeting the minimum GPA requirement alone is insufficient to guarantee admission. All required materials will be considered during the admission process.

All applications must be submitted to the Study Abroad Office by the application deadline. A complete application includes:

  • A completed Leiden application form
  • Personal Statement
  • Official transcript
  • Letter of recommendation from faculty member
  • Non-refundable $50 application fee, made payable to the University of Maryland
  • Copy of UID and passport

Please turn in all materials simultaneously.
