Program Calendar

Dates for WT2010: January 2 - 22, 2010

• May 1, 2008: Winter application form available
• September 23, 2009: Winter Scholarship application deadline. Please submit your program and scholarship application at the same time.
  
• Last day to apply: October 7, 2009. Please note that UM has rolling admissions, in order to secure a spot please apply early as the program fills up quickly.
  
• General pre-departure orientation: TBD
  Group flight departs US: January 2, 2010
  Program end date & departure from Cameroon - January 2, 2010
  Group flight departs Cameroon and returns to U.S. - January 22, 2010
  

Program Costs

2010 Program Fee: $TBD

Included:

• UM tuition
• UM $250 Study Abroad fee
• accommodations
• all meals (NOTE: Most study abroad programs do not include all meals, but this program does.)
• all in-country transportation
• admission to all sites and museums

A $30 application fee is due with the application. If admitted to the program, a $270 non-refundable deposit will be charged to the student's UM account or billed to non-UM students. The remainder of the program fee will be charged to the enrolled students' UM accounts in April or billed to non-UM students.

Not Included:

• personal expenses
• international airfare*

*The Study Abroad Office will suggest a group itinerary that each student is responsible for purchasing directly from a travel agent. Flight costs are not guaranteed and will vary. Round-trip airfare from the Washington, DC, area is estimated at approximately $2,000. Once admitted, you should expect to purchase the flight for the program by mid-March.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

The Study Abroad Office offers scholarships for undergraduate UM students to attend Summer Term programs. These scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and financial need. The last day to apply for scholarships is Wednesday September 23, 2009.
