Program Dates:

May 23 - June 14
May 23 - June 30 (service learning)

• Second week of January: Summer application form available
• February 15, 2008: Summer Scholarship application deadline
  
• Last day to apply: Tuesday, March 4, 2008
  
• May 5 or 6, 4.30p, ARM0135: General pre-departure orientation (attend only one)
• Spring semester 2008: Program specific pre-departure orientation (exact place and time TBD)
• May 23: Group flight departs US
• June 14: Program end date & departure from Cameroon
  
• June 14: Optional Service Learning begins
  
• June 30: Group flight departs Cameroon and returns to U.S.

Program Costs

2008 Program Fee: $3,360 ($5,025 with service learning)* includes

• tuition
• accommodations
• all meals
• in-country transportation
• admission to all sites and museums
  

A $30 application fee is due with the application. If admitted to the program, a $270 non-refundable deposit will be charged to the student's UM account or billed to non-UM students. The remainder of the program fee will be charged to the enrolled students' UM accounts in April or billed to non-UM students.

Other Costs

Students are responsible for

• international airfare*

*The Study Abroad Office will suggest a group itinerary that each student is responsible for purchasing directly from a travel agent. Flight costs are not guaranteed and will vary. Round-trip airfare from the Washington, DC, is estimated at approximately $2,000. Once admitted, you should expect to purchase the flight for the program by mid-March.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

The Study Abroad Office offers scholarships for undergraduate UM students to attend Summer Term programs. These scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and financial need. The last day to apply for scholarships is Friday, February 15, 2008.
