Parking

Parking at the University of Maryland is limited, so visitors to the campus need to plan ahead to have time to walk from parking garages to their campus destination. Visitors to CIM are advised to park in one of two parking garages: the Union Lane Parking Garage just up the hill from the Stamp Student Union on Campus Drive or the Mowatt Lane Parking Garage (recommended) in front of the Smith School of Business and also on Campus Drive. Both are hourly garages and the CIM will give parking coupons to CIM guests. Please refer to the campus map to see how to access the parking garages from the main entrance of the University of Maryland. When driving, one will encounter the Union Lane Parking Garage first and the Mowatt Lane Parking Garage second. For directions to campus, please see below.

Directions to the University of Maryland

From Baltimore and Points North
  • Take I-95 South to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
  • Take Exit 27 (I-495 West toward Bethesda) and then follow signs to Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
  • Proceed approximately two miles south on U.S. Route 1.
  • Turn right into Campus Drive main entrance.
From Virginia and Points South
  • Take I-95 North to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
  • Continue North on I-95/I-495 toward Baltimore.
  • Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
  • Proceed approximately two miles south on U.S. Route 1.
  • Turn right into Campus Drive main entrance.
From Virginia and Points West
  • Take I-66 East or I-270 South to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
  • Go East on I-495 toward Baltimore/Silver Spring.
  • Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
  • Proceed approximately two miles south on U.S. Route 1.
  • Turn right into Campus Drive main entrance.
From Annapolis and Points East
  • Take U.S. 50 to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
  • Go North on I-95/I-495 toward Baltimore.
  • Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
  • Proceed approximately two miles south on U.S. Route 1.
  • Turn right into Campus Drive main entrance.
From Washington, D.C. (Northwest/Southwest)
  • Take 16th St. North which becomes Georgia Ave. North at Maryland/D.C. line.
  • Go East on I-495 toward Baltimore.
  • Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
  • Proceed approximately two miles south on U.S. Route 1.
  • Turn right into Campus Drive main entrance.
From Washington, D.C. (Northeast/Southeast)
  • Take Rhode Island Ave. (U.S. 1 North) which becomes Baltimore Ave. North at Maryland/D.C. line.
  • Proceed through the city of College Park.
  • Turn left into Campus Drive main entrance.
